With it being a new year, it’s the best time to try a new look. So this weeks theme for the beautiesonfire collab post is “New Year, New Look.”
So I’ve been wanting to try adding lashes to, not my everyday look, but to my more done up look. I’ve tried them a few times. It’s such a weird feeling to have them glued to your eyes, but they look so much better than mascara alone.
So to get this look I started with Rimmel London Lasting finish foundation. I keep trying new foundations, but I always end up back at this one. Definitely one of my all time favorite foundations. Then I used Cover Girls Ready Set Gorgeous Concealers, in a lighter shade than my foundation to brighten up under my eyes and blended it with a wet Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. Running it under water will cause it to expand, and it makes it softer and squishier, so that it can blend better. For Contour I use a L.A. Colors Contour kit, and a Real Techniques Blush brush. For blush I used City Colors, Be Matte Blush in Fresh Melon. On my lips I used Tanya Burr Cosmetics matte lip color in Rhubarb and custard. I love this lipstick..
On my eyes I used Tarte’s Energy Noir Clay palette I used the shimmery color from the top row all over my eyelid, and then the brown on the outer corner, though my crease, and on my lower lash line. Then I used an essence Eyeliner pen to line my upper lash line.
The lashes that I am using are the Salon perfect Demi Wispies., What I did was put a some of the Salon Perfect Glue in a line on the back of my hand, then I dipped the strip of the lashes into the glue, and let it dry a bit, and popped them on my eyelid as close to my lash line as possible. When the glue dried I took some eyelash curlers to curl the lashes and I feel like it just helps blend them together (it probably doesn’t, I’m sure it’s probably bad for them) then I coated them with Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Angel mascara. Then I went over with the eyeliner pen.
I love the way the lashes look, but they feel real weird. I guess it’s just something that I’ll have to get used to. Or I’m doing them wrong… honestly I have no idea what I’m doing with them.. This post is a part of the Beauties on fire collab. Click the image below to be taken to the whole Link up.
