Hey guys, I can’t believe 2017 is over. I feel like it’s gone by so fast. Right now is such a good time for reflection, so many great things have happened. This year started with my second nephew being born. There is no better way to start a year then with a new nephew. Our family vacation. Over Easter weekend my mom sisters band their families all went to the Wisconsin dells. We had so much fun between the water/theme park, and the little shop like things. I try to spend most of my summer at the beach. For the last week of summer my family and my brother-in-laws’ families went camping. Which I weirdly enjoy despite how far out side of my comfort zone it puts me. Battery operated lights are the best camping accessory ever. The fall brings Cheerleading. I coached the 3-6 grade level for football with three other great ladies. Then I went on to coach 7/8th grade for basketball with Ashley. I love cheerleading, for one it gets me out of the house. For my third blogaversery I launched my YouTube channel. That’s been a lot of fun, and you should definitely check it out and subscribe. Thanksgiving all three (mine and both of my sisters in laws) spent the holiday together. My third nephew was born (the second of this year). We weren’t able to be there for his birth but he is the sweetest Over all it’s been a fantastic year. I hope you have all had an amazing year as well and that the next year is even better.
Hey guys, Who doesn’t like quotes. Weather I’m reading it in a book, hearing it in a song or movie, or even scrolling through which ever social media news feed, when ever a quote sticks out I like to write them down or save them somewhere. I had a very large collection of icons with quotes on my myspace page. Which I deleted and I’m kinda annoyed with myself for that. Anyway, I’ve gathered up some of my favorite quotes and put them on images to share with you guys. I’ve only just recently found this one when Sharon had me watching Alice in Wonderland. Most of achieving your goals, or anything really is your attitude going into it. Like trying something new if you don’t think you can do it, then you won’t.
Best. Advice. Ever. I mean really more people need to be reminded of this one.
This is one of the first quotes I’d ever seen and loved. It literally describes me so well. When I’m around a group or with someone I don’t know real well, being an introvert I don’t talk a lot. However when I get to know someone and become comfortable you will find that I never stop talking. Seriously non stop chatter. I’m about 90% sure that I heard this watching the Gilmore Girls, and I definitely took it a bit too seriously. I can’t tell you how many times I have been told to stop talking and breath. Because more often than not especially when I’m excited and hyper allofmywordsruntogether and I’m not gonna lie it’s kind of annoying. I like this one because when you’re having a bad day it’s easy to find more things that are bad about it. This quote is a good reminder to look for the good in less than good moments. I truly believe that there is good in everything. Which I’ve been told means I am naive and living in a bubble, and+ that’s ok because I am perfectly happy living in my bubble.
I hope you enjoyed these, which one is your favorite.
It was my favorite day of the month the other day. Ipsy day! Yep, my ipsy bag came in, and it was full of amazing products. I decided that the best way to tell you about it is by creating a full look using – almost- only the products from the bag.
For this look I started with Rimmel London Lasting Finish foundation, and tried to blend it in with a Beaute Basics Blending sponge. I found this sponge to be too hard to work the way I wanted to I switched over to my normal foundation brush. I tried again with for my concealer but still found it to be too hard. Even running it under water I never really got soft enough to comfortably blend in my makeup.
On my cheeks I used Seraphine Botanicals Lychee + Gold blush. I love this color, it’s a gorgeous peachy pink. It’s very pigmented, but not too pigmented that you need to use extreme care when applying. Then I used Tarte’s Amazonian Clay waterproof bronzer to contour. I love Tarte, and this bronzer is great, it blends out so well. I my bag I also received Nomad Cosmetics Illuminating Highlighter in Midnight Sun. This is the perfect highlighter to create a healthy glow.
For my eyes, I wanted to go for a bright but natural eye look. So I used the Illuminating Highlighter all over my lid. Then I took Tarte’s bronzer and blended it through my crease and in my outer corner. Then I used Ciaté London Wonderwand Gel-Kohl Hybrid Liner in Black to line my eyes. After that I took the brush from the other end of the pencil, to soften the upper lash line and to blend it through my lower lash line as well. To finish my eyes I applied NYX Le Chick Flick waterproof mascara.
On my Lips I used NYX’s Whipped Lip & Cheek Soufflé from last months bag. Then finished the look with Rimmel London’s Stay Matte pressed powder to set everything and be sure that it’s all blended as well as it could be.
I love ipsy. There is practically nothing that makes me happier then seeing the pretty pink package in the mail. The bags are so cute, and so useful, I literally use them for so much, from makeup, to first aid, to coins, and as an actual wallet. If you haven’t signed up you can do it here
Summer is my favorite time of the year, and since we’re finally experiencing summer weather, I want to talk about my summer essentials. You know those products that you need to make it the best summer yet. These are just some products that make summer easier The first, and in my opinion the more important is sunscreen. I am obsessed with sunscreen and carry several different ones from continuous sprays to lotions, and from SPF 4-50. It’s pretty obvious why sunscreen is important. Between painful sunburns, aging skin prematurely, and raising the risk skin cancer sunscreen is definitely as must have product. My favorite is this one from Hawaiian Tropic; it weightless, smells amazing, and doesn’t leave the oily greasy feeling like others do. Plus this has added moisturizer so it keeps your skin hydrated while protecting it from the suns harmful rays.Dry Shampoo, you might wonder why I think of this as a summer essential and not just an everyday favorite item. During the summer, it gets humid, hot and sweaty, which means my hair gets greasy fast. Like by the end of the day (especially if I am at the beach that day) it looks like I haven’t showered in a week. I’ve tried a few different dry hair shampoos and I didn’t like them, I could never get them to work properly. Until I’d tried Batiste Dry-Hair Shampoo, it’s a real life saver if you over slept and don’t have time to wash your hair. WaterProof Mascara the best beach beauty product ever! I’ve gotten to the point to where -most days- I’m comfortable going out with out makeup. However I look like I’m dying when I am not wearing any makeup, so a little bit of mascara makes a big difference. The only problem, is I don’t like waterproof mascara. It always makes my eyes itchy and my lashes feel weird. This one from NYX is amazing! It makes my lashes look long and natural. It didn’t leave my lashes itchy, or sticky and was completely waterproof. Since summer gets so hot humid and sweaty, the last thing I want to do is cake my face with a bunch of foundation. Which is why tinted moisturizer is on my list of summer essentials. This one from Cover Girl is my favorite. It isn’t full coverage but it’s enough to even out your skin tone, and give something for my concealer blend with. It also has a sunscreen and moisturizer as well. I definitely recommend this.
In my last post I said I wanted to start featuring other bloggers, because who doesn’t want a little support. The first blogger I am featuring is Natalie from islandbeautyjunkie.com. Her blog is amazing! It’s full of anything a beauty lover would want to read about.
I do want to keep featuring you guys, because if nothing else I am loving getting to read so many amazing blogs. So if you want to be next weeks “featured blogger” the make sure you link your blog with your comment.
I have been loving Smashbox’s Cover Shot Eye Palette. I’d been using it a lot lately. I love how well these eye shadows blend together so well, which makes it quick and easy to use. So I thought I would tell you about it and show you a very natural,
For my eyes, I started with “Preview” as a base all over my eyes. Next I blended “Publisher” all through my crease. After that I took “Werk It” over the rest of my eyelid, and “Angel” in my outer corner and along my lower lash line and then I just blended it all in. Then I took Kiss Gel Eyeliner Which is kind of cool because it comes with a stencil to create one of the many perfect wing effects. I couldn’t figure out how to hold it and fill it in at the same time. I promise at some point I will work out how to do winged eyeliner. Then I finished the look with Pixel Triple Boost Mascara.
I am loving this look. I love how natural, and simple it is.
