Hi there lovelies. I’ve noticed a few things about independent sales. There alway seems to be a different brand that’s like trending. First it was Mary Kay. I actually babysat for a Mary Kay consultant aside from writing me a check she almost always had some sort of makeup goodies to go with it. Then purses, nail stickers, 31 bags, Tupperware, perfectly posh, younique, Lula roe… you get it right? Now Young Living essential oils, seem to be what’s everyone is after.
I don’t usually jump on the independent sales bandwagon as I am not social or aggressive enough to even try to get sales I sold Avon for a bit, I was my own best customer. However, I did join in on the essential oils mostly because signing up to sell was the best value. I went in wanting Grapefruit, Cedar Wood, and Purification, instead I bought the kit that came with none of what I wanted.
After a week of stalking my package for a week it finally came in. One of the first things I wanted to do is try to recreate a Lavender/Vanilla body butter. I really wanted to share what I was making with you.
You will need
1/2 cup of coconut oil
1/2 cup of Shea Butter
1/4 tsp of Vanilla
4 Drops of Lavender Essential Oil
I started by putting water on to boil, once it was boiling I turned it down to low. Then in a glass dish I melted the Shea butter, and coconut oil. I took it off the heat and added in my vanilla, and lavender. Now it is time to move it to my mixing bowl and let it cool in the freezer checking it after 10 minutes. You don’t want it fully solid, but you also don’t want is liquid.
Once it is a bit more solid I put it into my mixer, and with the whisk attachment I whipped the mixture. All that’s left is moving it to another container for storage.
Ok so what I got was a bit different then what I was making, I probably should have done more of a 2:1 ratio instead of equal parts. Because while I was going for a more of a lotion, what I got was more of an oil. Not that it isn’t great, it’s just a bit melty.
I love the combination of lavender and vanilla it’s so cozy and relaxing. This oil could help you sleep, just apply some to the bottom of your feet before going to bed .
I love Lavender oil. It has been beyond helpful with my anxiety. If you’re interested in Young Living and would like to know more head over to my Contact me page, and I will be happy to sign you up or give you more information.
