Pokémon is back in popularity. I remember when I first heard of Pokémon, I was either 10 or 11 my friend and I found this card with a super cute little creature on it. I’d instantly fallen in love with the little character and had to have more. So as soon as I had the money I was able to go up to the store and get more. And sure enough more cute little creatures. over the next two or three years, I developed quite a collection. It wouldn’t have been worth anything as I only wanted the cute characters, like Poliwag,Oddish, Psyduck… and more. I remember I had several “baby” Pokémon cards as well.
I had no clue on how to battle Pokemon, or how to play the card game. I did have Pokémon: Blue for my Gameboy color. And I loved it. Then highschool came and I had discovered the sims… I out grew Pokémon. I lost the games and gave all of my cards to the Director of Religious Education to give to her grandson who was still really into them.
Now years later they release Pokémon Go, and literally every one is playing it. Well except me. My phone is outdated and can’t support the app. I’m only a little bitter by that. But with this whole app, regenerating our love of Pokémon It makes perfect sense that this weeks theme for our collaboration is Pokémon.
So for this week I asked my friends son, who is currently obsessed with Pokémon, what I should do. He suggested that I did pokeballs on my lips. So…
I lined my lips with a black eyeliner, then filled my bottom lip with a white jumbo pencil. then I took my eyeliner again and drew a circle on both of my lips. I filled in the circle with white, and the very carefully filled in my top lip with a red lipstick.
It’s safe to say that this is not a look I will wear. Well maybe for Halloween.
